The Biden admin. will start turning asylum seekers back to Mexico as soon as next week under a reinstated Trump-era "Remain in Mexico" program — but will offer them the option to receive the COVID-19 jab.
바이든 행정부는 트럼프가 복권한 "멕시코에 남아" 프로그램에따라 이르면 다음 주부터 망명 신청자들을 멕시코로 돌려보내기 시작할 것이지만, 그들에게 COVID-19 잽을 받을 수 있는 선택권을 제공할 것이다.
The program will force asylum seekers to wait months in Mexico ahead of their immigration court hearings in the US – undoing a key campaign migrant promise made by Biden.
이 프로그램은 망명 신청자들이 미국에서 열리는 이민법원의 청문회에 앞서 멕시코에서 몇 달을 기다리도록 강제할 것이다.
The court order, formally called the Migrant Protection Protocols, will first be reinstated in El Paso and Brownsville, Texas, as well as San Diego, California, a DHS official told Axios.
