The developer of the Ethereum cryptocurrency (Ethereum) Virgil Griffith has been imprisoned. He was charged with violating the US North Korea sanctions law by helping a communist country bypassing sanctions with cryptocurrency. U.S. Attorney's Office Says Griffith Should Be Returned To Jail After Violation
the terms of his release on bail earlier this month.
It is unclear if he is being held on the basis of his violation of the conditions of bail or something else.
Journalists tried to contact Griffith's lawyer, but have still not received a response.
